CADM’s Engineering Index
provides fast access to drawings
CAD Management (CADM) has extended the features of its Accordant Locator
Commercial Real Estate software with the introduction of the Engineering Index
module. This provides a web-based search and retrieval facility for CAD
drawings, images and other documents relating to a building and its services. As
such, it provides fast and easy access for FMs, estate managers, engineering
departments and authorised service providers to archived information that is
required for maintenance, refurbishment and other tasks.
Crucially, Engineering Index uses CADM’s unique database management tools to
enable quick and easy import of existing building data, so that users can reap
the system’s benefits with minimum delay.
Accessed through a standard web browser, Engineering Index is able to categorise
documents by location (e.g. floor by floor), as well as by engineering
discipline (heating, air conditioning, lighting, security, fire etc) – as well
as by supplier, version, file type, size, and received date. It is fully
compatible with all commonly used file formats, which can be uploaded in
compressed file formats to minimise storage requirements (typically less than
1Gb per 1000 documents) while maintaining fast access to individual files.
All files can be viewed online or downloaded to a local disk for use in other
programs
Available as a 100% web-deployed system or installed on the user’s own system,
Accordant Locator provides a managed environment for CAD information with
simple-to-configure interfaces to both its own databases and to external third
party systems. It features a specially developed space recharge method that
delivers significant time savings over traditional methods, and a powerful move
management system that greatly simplifies the control and management of
staff/asset moves.
